connector fans in the listed bollwerk 15 building, bern

The Bollwerk 15 commercial building, constructed in 1923, is centrally located directly next to Bern`s main railway station. Due to the high requirements for the preservation of historical monuments, the renovation was carried out in close consultation with the relevant authorities. The aim was to upgrade the historic premises for modern use as office and commercial space without compromising the architectural character of the building.

The extensive building services were integrated into the historic structure in an almost invisible manner. A total of 22 connector fans – 19 in wall and 3 in door – now ensure efficient air circulation between the corridor and the rooms. The installation of the fan units in the existing historic wall cabinets presented a particular challenge, which was met with great sensitivity and technical expertise by all those involved.
