Air flows into the system
Outside air is drawn in and forms the basis for adiabatic cooling generation.
Within the Riotherm system, Riotherm Adia handles cooling generation. The line uses adiabatic evaporation: water and outside air are guided so that usable cooling is produced with very little electrical input.
Cooling is becoming a key task in modern buildings. What matters is not only how much cooling is provided. What matters is how it is produced.
Water is introduced into the airflow, evaporates and draws heat from the air. This produces usable cooling with little electrical input.
Adia does not work as an isolated machine. The line is part of the modular Riotherm system and is matched to water-based components, flow temperatures close to the room and efficient building operation.
Riotherm Adia cools circulating water directly via outside air. As outside temperatures rise, fine water droplets are additionally sprayed for evaporation. This produces usable cooling without conventional compression technology.
Cooling is not solved by adding complexity, but through a simple physical principle.
Housing, smooth-tube heat exchanger, spray system and fans form a robust unit. The solution is designed for operation with mains water or collected rainwater and for the requirements of the Riotherm system components.
Riotherm Adia switches autonomously between dry and wet operation. The control system integrates components provided on site and delivers cooling generation as required.
Adiabatic evaporation produces usable cooling without a conventional refrigerant circuit and with very low electrical power.
Seasonal performance factors of up to 50 significantly reduce the energy input for cooling generation and create an efficient basis for building operation.
The low energy demand reduces operating costs and TCO and supports long-term energy and ESG targets over the building’s service life.
The control system first uses the outside air and adds evaporation only when needed – matched to the prevailing conditions.
Less Tech
Adia uses the same physical principle as a tree: evaporating water draws heat from its surroundings. Riotherm makes this natural effect technically usable, controllable and plannable.
