With Riotherm we are bringing our climate technology together under one shared system brand. The new Hochparterre special issue “Klima im Haus” shows how buildings stay comfortable with less technology – including at Swiss Re “Lake” in Zurich.
Climate technology as a complete system
With climate change, cooling is becoming just as important as heating. At the same time, the technical effort, energy consumption and number of interfaces in buildings are increasing.
Riotherm takes a different approach: architecture, comfort, energy generation, heat and cooling distribution, air exchange, waste heat recovery and control are thought through together from the outset.
The new system brand unites the climate technology we have developed over more than 20 years under one shared name. The individual product lines remain independent – but they unfold their full effect in combination.
Swiss Re “Lake”: architecture and climate thought through together
One of the key projects is Swiss Re “Lake” on Zurich’s Mythenquai. The climate concept was developed together with the architecture from the very beginning.
Thermal mass, lake water cooling and lean, demand-based building services work together. Around 2.5 kilometres of Riotherm Convec units were integrated into the sills and interiors. The technology stays in the background – its effect is noticeable throughout the building.
An invitation to two guided tours
At the end of October we are hosting two guided tours of Swiss Re “Lake”. Specialists will show on site how architecture, air management and climate technology interact. Afterwards there will be an aperitif offering the chance to ask questions and talk in person.
