The building is intended to become energy-positive within 30 years. It manages without adhesives; all components are screwed or slotted together and can be dismantled again. The materials are archived with Madaster and retain their value beyond their service life.
A defining element is the exposed clay ceiling, produced on site in a temporary field factory. The clay keeps the room humidity at at least 40 per cent and has a positive effect on health. Riotherm Strata and Convec provide the climate control.
The building is certified to SNBS Platinum and Minergie-P-Eco.
